DAVE PETTWAY, Worship Leader

BIBLE VERSE
1 Timothy 6:1-2 “1 Let all who are under a yoke as bondservants regard their own masters as worthy of all honor, so that the name of God and the teaching may not be reviled.2 Those who have believing masters must not be disrespectful on the ground that they are brothers; rather they must serve all the better since those who benefit by their good service are believers and beloved. Teach and urge these things.”

INTERPRETATION
To give honor where honor is due especially to those in authority over you and, principally, to authority figures who are Christians so that good witness of Christ and his word would be shown to all who are watching and listening -
BREAKTHROUGH
My “aha” moment was that I must remember this particular teaching because I work for Believing bosses and I want to always see them as Christ sees them. They are as beloved by God as I am and worthy of honor. -
LIFE APPLICATION
My job this week is to work at seeing my masters as yoke fellows in Christ as dearly loved by God and to be prayerful for them and to trust God to be my strength as I continue learning how to be respectful and to bear in mind the fact that these men and women are my brothers and sisters in Christ. -
ENTREATY
God, Please help me in my ineptitude to focus on showing love and respect and honor first in my daily interactions with those in authority over me because I’m quite sure I’d want the samegood will to be extended to me by those that I’m in charge of. Amen
