SENIOR PASTOR
 
• Born in Seymour, Ind.; moved to California age 4; currently lives in Huntington Beach.
• Edison HS graduate; attended UCLA; Biola University; received Masters of Divinity degree from Talbot Theological Seminary.
• Beachcities Community Church was outgrowth of men’s summer bible study in 1985. First worship service Sunday, Dec. 8, 1985.
• Pastor Sparks explains: “Back in ’85, I saw the need for a church committed to biblical values and featuring a contemporary worship style—a church to help guys and gals in the beach community get saved.”
• Noted Bible authority, has preached more than 1,000 sermons; has led verse-by-verse Bible studies through most books of the New Testament (currently leading a weekly Tuesday night study through the Book of Psalms).
• Married to Linda; three children, Malakai, Nikole and Klark.

CHARLIE KOELLER
EXECUTIVE PASTOR
 
• Lives in Huntington Beach; on Beachcities staff since spring 2002.
• Longtime Beachcities member; principal in Y2K conversion of former 24 Hour Fitness building at 9872 Hamilton into current church facility.
• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from USC (1981); Masters degree in Christian Ministry and Leadership from Talbot Seminary (2000).
• Assists Senior Pastor Kent Sparks by overseeing all areas of ministry administration and providing Bible-based marriage counseling.
• Married to Karen since 1992; three children, Kevin, Jack and Annie. Family hobbies include playing golf, snow skiing, surfing and all kinds of water sports.

• Long Beach resident; Beachcities elder.
• Longtime Beachcities member; principal focus on missionaries and outreach (including current Panama Project).
• Works for Wycliffe Bible Translators; lived in Panama for 20 years, developed written language for Wounaan people group, translated New Testament.
• Married to Kathy; three sons.
